Cloasterf




THE VILLAGE first mentioned in historical documents in 1322 - possesses one of the finest of the smaller fortified churches, St Nicholas. Completed in 1524, it still retains some of its original benches, bearing coats of arms. The altar and organ are 18th century.

THE HOUSE sleeps 2 and is the bell-ringer house, set within the fortified walls. It was in a state of total disrepair last year but is now fully restored by the MET. One room with two beds; iron wood-burning stove; fridge. Outdoor WC, and basins with no immediate hot water.

THE JOURNEY: Drive from Bucharest to Brasov and on towards Sighisoara. 15km after Rupea turn left for Cloasterf.

THE COST per person per night: £15, or 7 nights for the price of 6.
With Breakfast £20, with two meals £25 and with three meals £30.
